Improvement to Fan Kam Road – Feasibility Study
Description:
We were appointed by Highways Department to study the feasibility of improvement of the section of Fan Kam Road with a length of about 7.5km between Po Kin Road and Kam Tin Road comprises a substandard 5.5m wide single 2-lane carriageway with discontinuous and narrow footpaths on both sides. A large number of trees are planted along both sides of Fan Kam Road and several of them are included in the Register of Old and Valuable Trees. Furthermore, there is a 1200mm diameter Dong Jiang water main runs along the whole length of Fan Kam Road. The study of the improvement of Fan Kam Road is therefore complicated and challenging.

Improvement and Extension of Kam Pok Road - Design
Description:
Kam Pok Road is a local Rural Road linking Fairview Park Boulevard, Pok Wai South Road, and Pok Wai West Road, which eventually links to Castle Peak Road – Tam Mi (CPR). The new alignment which form a S-curve adjacent to existing electric pylon to CPR, the extension of road improvement to the existing unnamed road to Man Yuen Road and the shifting of road alignment towards Gas depot, is the optimal solution based on the findings in our previous assignment with Highways Department, Agreement No. WD 9/2008, which has minimized the land intake, addressed to local public concerns and at the same time, to maintain cost effective engineering solution. We were again appointed by Highways Department to undertake this design assignment to review and design the new alignment and to tie in the committed time frame to ensure the works contract to be commenced in April 2011 for construction completion by 2012 and also to assist HyD in resolving public concerns.
